Yoon Ahn reveals AMBUSH’s new colourway of the Nike Dunk

You have to admit, the renewal of the NIKE Dunk might be the greatest sneaker sensation this year. Introduced in 1985 side by side with the classic Air Jordan 1 that we are all familiar with, Dunks were originally made for the court.

Not long after those years, the silhouette then began to grind the rails of the skate culture. The sneakers were revamped to cater to the needs of the skaters; a chunkier tongue and padding all around made it more convenient to skate in. Thus, the SB Dunk was born.

Now being present at the time where a lot of sneakers are rarely worn but rather displayed or resold in the market instead, it appears that Nike has no intentions of stopping the production of the model. Rolling out new colourways and exclusive collaborations practically every month, one of the latest work we’ve seen recently is AMBUSH‘s modification on the famed shoes.

A silhouette heavily adapted from Japanese biker gangs in the 1950s, also known as “Bosozoku Bikes”, Korean-American designer and founder of AMBUSH; Yoon Ahn revealed the newest colourway of her Dunks on her Instagram. The new pair of highs are attired in a rich white leather toebox, quarter panels and height-boosted midsoles, while the rest are contrasted with black leather overlays and an oversized iconic swoosh logo that extends past the heel.

Not to forget, this isn’t the first collaboration we’ve seen from the labels. Looking back three years ago, Nike approached Mrs Ahn promptly asking her to collaborate after receiving AMBUSH’s LVMH prize.

The Reversible Logo-Print Faux-Fur Jacket was undoubtedly the signature piece of the Fall/Winter collection that released in 2019.

While we wait for an exact drop date and price tag, AMBUSH, fortunately did confirm that the pair is scheduled to drop this December just in time for the festive Christmas season so save what you must and don’t forget that SNKRS is making a list and checking it twice to find out if you’ve been naughty or nice!

Stay tuned on our page for a release date and keep your eyes peeled at The Sole Supplier for the list of raffles! While you’re here, be sure to check out G-Dragon‘s anticipated Para-noise 2.0
